128 more test positive takes J&K tally 2164, Death toll 28

Jammu Tawi, May 29: Jammu and Kashmir today recorded 128 more positive cases for Covid-19 taking the total number of positive cases in the UT to 2164.

Among 128 new cases, 92 belong to Kashmir division while as 36 are from Jammu division, officials said, adding that the total number of positive cases in Kashmir division has reached to 1728 including 774 recoveries and 25 deaths while as total number of positive cases in Jammu division has reached to 436 including 101 recoveries and 3 deaths.

They added that total number of active cases in Jammu and Kashmir are 1261 including 929 from Kashmir division and 332 from Jammu division.

“Cases tested positive in J&K include 6 from Anantnag, 19 from Kulgam,27 from Srinagar, 1 from Budgam, 18 from Kupwara, 1 from Shopian, 8 from Baramulla and 13 from Pulwama in Kashmir division while as 36 from Jammu including 7  from Jammu, 6 from Kuthua, 1 from Udhampur, 2 from Samba, 6 from Rajouri and 14 from Poonch,” officials disclosed.

In Jammu division, 128 including 37 recoveries and two deaths are from Jammu district, 65 including 19 recoveries are from Kathua, 52 including 22 recoveries and one death are from Udhampur, 75 including 03 recoveries are from Ramban, 34 including 10 recoveries from Samba, 21 including 05 recoveries are from Rajouri, 08 including 01 recovery are from Kishtwar, 38 with no recovery from Poonch, 13 including 03 recoveries are from Reasi and 02 including one recovery are from Doda.

Dr G H Yatoo Nodal officer for coronavirus at SKIMS said that out of 1430 samples, 58 were  tested positive among them 27 are Srinagar, 19 from Kulgam, 04 from  Kupwara, 07 from Baramulla and one from Pulwama.

Officials said that 27 from Srinagar tested positive at SKIMs include 67-year-old male from Amira Kadal, 60-year-old male from Lal bazar, 7, 9, 25, 32 and 45-year-old females and 25, 51 and 42 year old males from Bemina, 48-year-lady from Qamarwari, 48-year old male and 37 year old female from Nawakadal, 24 year old male from Solina,23 and 50-year-old males from Nowhatta, 50, 38 and 40-year-old males from Hawal, 40-year-old male from Buchpora, 70 year old male from Lal Nagar, 27-year-old female from Abi Guzar, 25-year-old female from Eidgah, 28-year-old male from Hyderpora and 58-male from Kadfali Mohalla Srinagar.

The ages of Kulgam patients lie between 7 and 60 years and among them 9 are males and 10 females, officials said adding that 8 from Chattabal, 10 from  Narsingpora and one from Police station  Manzgam.

Patients from Baramulla include 3 from Sopore, one from Tantraypora Palhalan and 3 males from vankara Baramulla, officials said adding that patients from Kupwara include 3 males including one from Hyhama and one female Handwara besides a 29 year old male from Tral Pulwama. Officials from CD hospital said that 33 persons were tested positive for virus on Friday

They said 12 from Pulwama include 12 year old male and 14 and 28 year old females from Marwal Kakapora, 12 year old female and 12 and 18 year old males from Barsoo Awantipora, 23, 55 and 67 year old males from Reshiepora Pulwama, 44 year old male from Khandermoh, 29 year old male from Lethpora and 21 year old male from Arbal

They added that from Kupwara, positive patients include 27, 38 and 36 year old males from Kralpora, Bapora Hyhama and Dardhari villages respectively, 38 year old male from Warsun, 22 year old male from Manzhama, 32 year old male from Panzgam, 23 year old female from Manzgam, 25 year old male from Lonehari, 35 year male from Hari, 22, 25, 38 and 38 year old males from Kralpora and 18 year old female from Bangam Kupwara.

They further added that Patients from Anantnag include 25, 31, 33 and 35-year-old pregnant ladies from  Achabal, Brenti, Chaki wanihama and Geebum Dooru respectively besides a 24-year-old male from Satrimidan and 31-year old male from Naibasti Anantnag and a 45-year-old man from Bomai Sopore

Meanwhile, with the death of 70-year-old man from Baghandar area of Shopian who died at SHMS the death toll of covid-19 positive patients of Jammu and Kashmir has reached to 28 including 25 from Kashmir division and 3 from Jammu division.

Dr Salim Khan Nodal officer for covid-19 at GMC Srinagar said that 70 year old male from Aliarpora, Bagander  Shopian admitted on 27-05-2020 as pneumonia with underlying hypertension and diabetes mellitus. He said that patient died on Thursday evening and on Friday his sample reports came positive.

As per officials figures 295 positive cases including five deaths and 120 recoveries are from Anantnag, 273 including four deaths and 23 recoveries are from Kulgam, 246 including seven deaths and 128 recoveries are from Srinagar, 145 including one death and 132 recoveries are from Bandipora, 177 including 102 recoveries and five deaths are from Baramulla, 152 including 107 recoveries and one death are from Shopian, 255 including 74 recoveries are from Kupwara, 89 including 52 recoveries and two deaths are from Budgam, 31 including 24 recoveries are from Ganderbal and 65 including 12 recoveries are from Pulwama.

As per the daily information bulletin 158,733 persons in Jammu and Kashmir are under observation while as 34,495 persons have been kept under home quarantine besides that 1261 persons are in hospital isolation while as 54 persons are under hospital quarantine.

According to the bulletin, 81,410 persons have completed surveillance period and 41,525 persons are under home surveillance besides that so far results of 156,010 samples are available.

Out of 156,010 the number of samples tested negative stands at 153,846 while as 2164 have been tested positive, among them 1261 are active and 875 persons have recovered and 28 persons have died.
