At Dodger Stadium, Fogerty plays 'Centerfield'

by

LOS ANGELES -- It was "Centerfield" in center field, literally, for ageless rocker John Fogerty at Dodger Stadium on Thursday.

To celebrate his 75th birthday, Fogerty played his iconic baseball-themed anthem in the outfield with his family as his backing band.

Fogerty posted the video to Twitter and Facebook, saying, “It took 75 years and it’s a little different than I envisioned. Now on my birthday I get to fulfill my dream playing “Centerfield” in centerfield with my kids on the team. A home run! Hopefully it won't be long until we are able to have baseball back. Until then ... 'Put me in coach, I'm ready to play!'”

For those unfamiliar with Fogerty’s early work, he was a co-founder of the band Creedence Clearwater Revival, whose many classics include "Born on the Bayou," "Fortunate Son," "Proud Mary" and "Bad Moon Rising."

Fogerty was inducted into the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame as a member of CCR in 1993.
