DJ Cuppy emerges first African to host Apple music radio show

NIGERIAN superstar musician, DJ Cuppy will be the first African to host the Apple Music show called, ‘Africa Now Radio With Cuppy.’

The ‘Gelato’ singer took to her twitter handle to announce the news to her fans. She tweeted “I’m the first-ever African @AppleMusic @Beats1 radio host? Pinch me! This is for YOU, Africa! Promise to do my people PROUD! #AfricaNow”.

According to the streaming platform, the show will debut on Sunday and it will feature a mix of contemporary and traditional popular African sounds like Afrobeats, rap, house, kuduro, and more.

The show is expected to feature songs from African music greats like Wizkid, Davido, Tiwa Savage, Yemi Alade, Burna Boy, DJ Black Coffee, and others.

27-year old DJ Cuppy, whose real name is Florence Ifeoluwa Otedola, is the daughter of a Nigerian billionaire businessman, Femi Otedola.

Last month, the singer made the Forbes tenth annual “30 Under 30” list of young Africans who are doing amazing things for themselves and their community.
