Delhi-NCR struck by earthquake measuring 4.5 on Richter Scale

The earthquake was felt across Delhi and in the nearby regions of UP’s Noida and Gautam Budhh Nagar as well.
PTI quoted the National Center for Seismology (NCS) as saying that the medium intensity earthquake of magnitude 4.5, had its epicentre in Haryana’s Rohtak.
Reports stated that the earthquake hit 16 km ESE of Rohtak at 21:08 hours on Friday.
PTI reported that there were no immediate reports of any loss of life or property due to the earthquake.
This is reportedly the seventh minor earthquake that Delhi has witnessed in about a month’s time.
Of the four seismic zones that are present in India, Delhi and the national capital region are a part of the Zone IV of the seismic map.
As per an earlier report by IE, Zone IV and V on the seismic map have high chances of major earthquakes that can be dangerous.
According to the National Center for Seismology, the national capital had recorded six earthquakes between April 12, 2020 and May 15, 2020 — with Friday’s being the seventh.
