Vampire Diaries star Zach Roerig 'arrested and charged with DUI'

Zach – who played Matt Donovan in the CW show – was reportedly arrested at around 2:30 am, according to a spokesperson for the Montpelier Police Department.
They added to PEOPLE that the charge is a misdemeanour of the first degree, which is the highest level of a misdemeanour in Ohio.
Zach was released from custody on his own recognisance with the condition that he shows up for his arraignment, which has been scheduled for 4 June.
The 35-year-old starred in The Vampire Diaries from 2009 to 2017 and appeared as the same character on the spin-off series The Originals.
According to TMZ, officers noticed the star’s pickup truck did not have a front license plate.
The actor most recently starred in teen drama series Dare Me as Sarge Will Mosley.
The USA Network series was cancelled after just one season.
Zach has a daughter named Fiona who was born in January 2011.
He has mostly kept a low-key profile but news broke in 2013 that the star filed legal papers in Georgia, seeking full custody of his daughter after her mother, Alana Turner, was incarcerated.
On 27 May, Zach took to Twitter for the first time in three years to promote a VD virtual experience.
