George Floyd death row: Priyanka Chopra pays tribute to and calls for justice

by

Priyanka Chopra has been sharing posts on social media to keep fans updated about her day-to-activities. The actress is currently living in the US with her husband Nick Jonas.

And now, she took to Instagram to share a post and asked everyone to sign a petition to get justice for George Floyd. The heartwarming caption read, "There is so much work to be done and it needs to start at an individual level on a global scale. We all have a responsibility to educate ourselves and end this hate. End this race war here in the US, and around the world. Wherever you live, whatever your circumstances, NO ONE deserves to die, especially at the hands of another because of their skin color.

On May 25th, George Floyd was pinned down by the neck by a Minneapolis police officer and died. He laid there, fighting for his life, struggling to breathe, and other officers just stood there and watched.

George, I am praying for your family. ❤️ Text “FLOYD” to 55156 and sign the petition. #JusticeForGeorgeFloyd"

While the picture of the post read, "please I can't breathe."

Take a look:

For the unversed, George Floyd was the black man who died after four police officers handcuffed him and pinned him to the ground with their knees. A video of the arrest surfaced online where he can be seen pleading the officers to let him breathe.

On the work front, Priyanka recently appeared on a live concert with her Nick Jonas which was organised to raise funds for COVID-19 relief and the couple also sent out a strong message during the live stream. Nick even performed a song during the live show.

Meanwhile, on the work front, PeeCee was last seen in Shonali Bose's 'The Sky Is Pink'. The film failed to make its mark at the box office. Fans are waiting for her to announce her next project.
