Get Ready for WONDER WOMAN: TEMPEST TOSSED with 18-Page First Look
by Newsarama StaffDC's Wonder Woman: Tempest Tossed re-imagines the Amazonian princess as a refugee coming to America for a new life, and with it due out June 2 Newsarama has an 18-page first look.
"It's set in the experience of people trying to come to America in the world of right now. This is the American Dream that we keep on promising ourselves, but we're struggling to fulfill equally for people from other places, from all corners of the world," writer Laurie Halse Anderson told Newsarama.
Tempest Tossed is drawn by Leila Del Luca.
"There's been a lot written about her that shows her being an 'other' - we're familiar with seeing that," Anderson continued. "But I wanted to really explore this because this is one of my favorite things about teenagers as they come of age, and they really start to understand the world around them. They are so motivated by the need for justice and equity. And I wanted to see Wonder Woman, young Diana, do the same thing."
