by

Love Island couple Demi Jones and Luke Mabbott have split after spending three months apart, it's claimed.

The pair, who met on the first winter series in January this year, have spent all of the coronavirus lockdown apart and their relationship fizzled out, it's claimed.

Demi, 21, and Luke M, 25, reached third place in the series finale which was won by Paige Turley and Finn Tapp, who are still together.

A source close to the former couple told The Sun Online : "It's no huge drama - they're just better off as friends.

"They had a good run but they have split for good."

They got together after Nas dumped Demi for for Eva in Casa Amor.

However, during the recoupling Luke decided to stick with Demi and they stayed together until the end of the series.

The former couple have spent the lockdown 312 miles apart.

Demi has been living down south in Portsmouth while Luke is in Redcar in the north east.

The news follows their fellow islanders Ched and Jess' split after lockdown also drove them apart.

Speaking on Johnny Seifert's Secure The Insecure podcast, Ched explained: "We came out, as you can imagine we had interviews together up and down.

"We were in London, we were in Manchester. So I spent two weeks with her.

"Then I came home and then the following Monday we got locked down. So she was in lockdown with her sisters and I was in Suffolk at home with my family. So we haven’t seen each other really."
