According to the Korea Business Week, there is an indication that the demand for iPads is huge especially in the Asian market. To this end, Apple has asked LG Display for an urgent supply of iPad screen panels. The American manufacturing giant needs this order to meet the supply-demand for iPad products in the Asian market.

Reports say that LG Display will start running the production line at full speed as early as June. It needs to start early so as to meet Apple’s urgent needs. Originally, Apple had terminated screen orders in the second quarter of this year. However, in March the iPad was at a low inventory level in China. This suggests that Apple far underestimates the surge in demand for tablets.

In response to this situation, analysts said “considering that suppliers usually place orders at least three months in advance to facilitate the procurement of raw materials and production of products, Apple’s special request is unusual. However, LG had to do its best to close the order to gain the trust of its biggest customers, “Since BOE in China and Sharp in Japan are also major suppliers of Apple’s iPad panels, LG Display needed to respond quickly to Apple’s request to avoid losing the order to a competitor.”
