The PUNCH reports that many people on social media condemned the beating after the video surfaced online.
In the video clip, a man – identified as a Nigerian, was seen being assaulted.
Reacting, the Nigerians in Diaspora Commission says it had begun an investigation into the brutal beating of a yet-to-be-identified Nigerian.

“The Nigerian mission in India is aware and currently investigating the circumstances.
“We call on Nigeria Community in India to be calm as the Mission is aware.”
Also, many commenters on social media expressed displeasure over the beating of the Nigerian, tagging it as racism.
One of them, Progress Owolabi said, “Nigerian government better act fast.”
Another commenter, Kingsley Monday, demanded justice in the case, saying, “Nothing should go unturned in this case, we need justice.”
Maxwell cautioned the foreigners against alleged racial discrimination, warning that the action of the Indians in the video was capable of spurring a retaliatory attack in Nigeria.
