Bayern Munich to offer Lucas Hernandez to Man City in Leroy Sane deal and more transfer rumours

Bayern Munich will reportedly offer Manchester City defender Lucas Hernandez to try and sign Leroy Sane and more gossip.

Bayern Munich are prepared to offer talented defender Lucas Hernandez to Manchester City as part of a deal to sign Leroy Sane, according to reports.

Bayern haven't kept their desire to sign Sane a secret over the last year and drew the ire from City last summer with their overtly public pursuit of the winger that culminated in Bayern being forced to publicly deny transfer speculation in the German press, and then-manager Nico Kovac apologising for saying he was 'confident' a deal would be done.

City refused to budge on their lofty asking price and when Sane suffered a serious knee ligament injury in the Community Shield victory over Liverpool, the Bavarians abandoned the chase and instead signed Philippe Coutinho and Ivan Perisic.

The two signings haven't been a huge success and high-ranking Bayern officials have once again started started discussing Sane in the media, as they look to replace departed icons Frank Ribery and Arjen Robben.

City's stance remains largely unchanged from last summer: they would like Sane to stay and there is an offer for a new contract on the table. If there is an acceptance that he may leave - and with only a year remaining on the 24-year-old's current deal an exit is looking increasingly likely - there is a determination not to be forced to sell the player for significantly lower than their valuation even if that risks Sane leaving for free in 12 months time.

With Bayern unwilling to meet the Blues' valuation TZ, via SportWitness, report that they will try and sweeten the deal by offering World Cup winner Hernandez.

The Frenchman has also suffered with injuries this season, which has limited him to just 16 appearances following his £71million move from Atletico Madrid in the summer and it's claimed that the emergence of Alphonso Davies has already left him surplus to requirements.

Hernandez is more than capable at playing in the centre of defence or at left-back, two positions which City will likely be looking to strengthen in the summer.

Yet there is no confirmation on whether City would be interested in Hernandez and a contrasting report from BILD claims Bayern want to keep him anyway.

Meanwhile, rumours continue to rumble on over Barcelona full-back Nelson Semedo.

The latest report from Sport, via SportWitness, claim that City are the favourites to sign the Portuguese over Juventus and Inter as it's the preferred destination of his agent, Jorge Mendes.
