Manchester United great Ryan Giggs makes Liverpool FC and Jurgen Klopp admission
The legendary former Man Utd winger has been talking about Jurgen Klopp's side and their surge for the Premier League title this season.
by Dominic Booth, http://www.facebook.com/DominicBoothMEN/Ryan Giggs believes Liverpool would be worthy winners of the Premier League title, after a date for the resumption of the league was confirmed.
The Manchester United legend admitted through gritted teeth that Jurgen Klopp's side have been - by far and away - the best team in the division this season. And after the league confirmed it was planning to restart on June 17th behind closed doors, after all fixtures were suspended due to the coronavirus pandemic, Liverpool will get the chance to seal their first crown in 30 years.
Giggs believes the restart will throw many issues up, but admitted to Sky Sports that Klopp's side would more than merit their trophy win.
"With the obvious pause in the season because of Covid-19, I think there's a lot of questions still to be answered," said the former United winger.
"But I think what we have seen this year is Liverpool are a fantastic team, managed by a great coach Jurgen Klopp and, it pains me to say it as a United fan, but they have been fantastic this season.
"Obviously they'll go on and, whatever way it is, they'll win the league and deserve it. They've had two brilliant seasons actually, last year pushing Man City all the way. They're a great team to watch."
Giggs, who now manages Wales, admits he has copied some of Klopp's tactics after taking his national team to the European Championship. He added that he believes Ole Gunnar Solskjaer's side can begin to bridge the gap to Liverpool in the coming years.
"There were certain things that I've taken out of the way that Liverpool play, and taking it on to the way that I want to do with Wales," he added.
"Hopefully United will bridge that gap and catch them up. But you have to give credit where credit is due and Liverpool have been fantastic this season."
