Corrie fans heartbroken as abused Yasmeen set to conceal truth about evil Geoff
Coronation Street's Yasmeen Nazir blamed herself for her prison stint, and denied being abused by her controlling husband
by Charlotte TuttonCoronation Street fans were devastated for Yasmeen Nazir on Friday, as her abuse hell continued.
She's been in prison ever since she stabbed her abusive husband Geoff Metcalfe in the neck at the beginning of the month.
Yasmeen fought back in self-defence after months of controlling behaviour and manipulation, with him threatening her life and becoming increasingly aggressive.
But she's paid the price, with few people knowing about what she'd been through prior to the attack.
As many Weatherfield residents remain divided over things, Alya Nazir is trying to prove her grandmother's innocence.
But Yasmeen won't reveal the truth about the abuse, or why she attacked him.
She's been manipulated to the point she is now struggling with her own actions, and is blaming herself for everything.
It appears she has accepted her fate, and may even plead guilty in her looming court case.
She's more worried about Geoff and what he wants her to do rather than saving herself.
In the latest episode, Alya finally got to see her gran in prison but she was devastated by what she found.
Yasmeen refused to talk about the incident, before making it clear she did not blame Geoff.
She was determined to be punished, and wouldn't tell anyone about what she went through.
As Alya pleaded with her to change her mind, fearing for her future, Yasmeen lost it and stormed back to her cell.
Alya was heartbroken and feared she'd lost her grandmother forever, unsure how to expose Geoff for once and for all.
Viewers watching at home were as equally as heartbroken by the scenes, hoping she would find the strength to confirm the abuse.
Coronation Street airs Mondays, Wednesdays and Fridays at 7:30pm on ITV.
