#JusticeforTina: Police arrested after allegedly shooting to death 16-year-old girl in Lagos
by Damilola IsmailThe police officer who allegedly shot a 16-year-old girl, Tina in Iyana Oworo area of Lagos state has been arrested by the state’s police command spokesperson, Bala Elkana, confirmed.
On Wednesday, a trigger happy police officer trying to arrest a bus driver violating the nationwide curfew allegedly shot dead the conductor of the bus and a 16-year-old girl, Tina.
A video showing the moment residents in the area tried to rescue Tina after she was shot went viral on social media and Nigerians using the hashtag #JusticefofTina, took to their pages to demand the arrest and prosecution of the erring police officer.
Bala Elkana, spokesperson of the state police command, this afternoon, announced via his Twitter handle that the accused police officer has been identified, arrested and will be made to face the full weight of the law.
”The killer cop is identified, arrested and detained at the Headquarters. He will face the full weight of the law. Justice will surely prevail. Members of the Public will be updated on the outcome of the investigation.” Bala tweeted
