Virtual feminist festival launches and it's all about inspiring women

by

Next month, Women for Women International will bring back its feminist festival so that females can share their knowledge with each other.

Due to the pandemic, the event, known as #SheInspiresMe, will be entirely virtual this year, with a packed schedule of live sessions with well-known, successful and inspiring women from across the globe.

It will take place on 20 June and this year’s theme is: ‘How can we make our post-pandemic world a fairer, kinder and more resilient one?’ – it’s basically a stepping stone to rebuilding society, with women at the helm.

Speakers include big names such as singer Annie Lennox, teen climate activist Amika George, model Munroe Bergdorf, as well as women from various female-focused organisations such as Hannah Bond from Gender Action for Peace and Security (GAPS) and Women for Women International’s own Buki Onyishi, the company’s country director in Nigeria.

There are many more women who will be hosting talks, as well as plenty of activities to take part in, such as workshops on:

There will also be a fitness session with School of SOS Dance and a sound bath with Jasmine Hemsley, author and founder of Hemsley+Hemsley.

So, how can you take part?

It’s all very simple really – the event will be hosted on a virtual conferencing platform (we’re assuming you’ll be sent details once you’ve purchased a ticket).

Early-bird tickets are currently on sale at £10, but the price will go up after 31 May, so get in now if you’re keen to tag along.

And we can’t see why anyone wouldn’t be.
