Confederation of African Football Appoints Five Liberians to Committees

Monrovia – Five Liberians have been appointed to different committees at the Level of the Confederation of African Football (CAF).

President Ahmad Ahmad made the appointment the Liberians to help govern CAF last week.

A release from the Liberia Football Association (LFA) says President Mustapha Raji was appointed as member to a 25-man commission for the organization of the African Nations Championship (CHAN).

It is headed by Caf third Vice President Danny Jordaan, who is also president of South African Football Association.

LFA Vice President for administration Sekou Konneh was appointed as member to a 19-man commission on inter-club and club licensing. It is headed by Caf first Vice President Constant Omari, who is also president of DR Congo Football Federation.

LFA Vice President for operations Wilmot Smith was appointed member to a 16-man commission for the development of beach soccer and futsal. It is headed by Caf executive committee member (ECM) Moses Magogo Hassim, who is also president of the Federation of Uganda Football Associations.

Deputy sports minister Andy Quamie, who is also a Caf and Fifa match commissioner, retained his membership to a 10-man jury of appeal commission, which is headed by Nigeria’s Abdulhakeem Uthman Mustapha.

And former LFA ECM Ciatta Bishop retained her membership on a 14-man commission on women’s football. It is headed by Caf ECM Isha Johnson, who is also president of Sierra Leone Football Association.

Raji, Konneh, Smith, Quamie and Bishop will serve the commissions until the next Caf general assembly in 2021.
