LUCIFER's TOM ELLIS Agrees to Return for a Sixth Season After 'Difficult' Negotiations - Report

by

Tom Ellis has signed a deal to return for a sixth season of Warner Bros. Television's Lucifer after "lengthy, difficult negotations," according to Deadline. Filming of a fifth season - previously announced by the showrunners' as the series' last - was near completion before being suspended due to the COVID-19 pandemic.

Showrunners Ildy Modrovich and Joe Henderson and "the rest of the cast" have reportedly signed on for a sixth season as well, although Netflix has yet to order a sixth season.

Lucifer ran for three seasons on Fox before cancellation, after which Netflix swooped in to pick up the series. If Netflix declined to order a sixth season, it's possible WB TV could shop it to other outlets - although a possible sister show, The Sandman, is currently in development at Netflix.
