Martin Odegaard's future depends on Zinedine Zidane
by Pep Costa- The French coach must decide if he wants the Norwegian in his squad for next season
Zinedine Zidane has the last word on whether Martin Odegaard will return to Real Sociedad or not.
The Norwegian playmaker has shone at Real Sociedad and the 21 year old could be used next season in the midfield back at the Santiago Bernabeu. He's got seven goals and eight assists this year. He'd prefer to complete his two year loan but Madrid can take him back.
Roberto Olabe, the Real Sociedad sporting director, is sure Odegaard should stay. "You have to let (Odegaard) decide calmly, but I look him in the face and I'm moderately optimistic. I don't know where he'll play next season but he decided to come with us last summer because he liked what he saw and what he heard, despite having a deal sealed with Bayer Leverkusen. Now I think it will be similar.
"In principle he has to decide for May 31, but (the corona crisis means) now we have different dates and have to wait." It's up to Zizou.
