Love Island’s Demi and Luke M reportedly split after three months apart in lockdown

A source claims the lovebirds struggled with maintaining a long distance relationship

Love Island lovebirds  Demi Jones and Luke Mabbott have reportedly split.

According to SunOnline the pair who came third in the series, have ended their romance - one of several couples who have not survived keeping the relationship alive over the last few weeks.

A source told the site:  "There’s been no cheating or drama they just drifted apart - he’s looking forward to lockdown being over and making the most of his new single status."

Love Island viewers will remember how the pair couple got together after naughty Nas dumped Demi for Eva in Casa Amor.

Shaughna Phillips did her best to win over Luke M after she was callously dumped by Callum.

But by then Luke only had eyes for Demi.

After leaving the villa they gave interviews on how lovestruck they were. But fast forward a few weeks - the nation was forced into lockdown - which was particularly hard for the pair. 

Demi lives in Portsmouth while Luke is 312 miles away in the north east seaside town of Redcar.

Lockdown has also killed Love Island stars Ched Uzor and Jess Gale's relationship.  Speaking of the split Ched said: "She was in lockdown with her sisters and I was in Suffolk at home with my family. So we haven’t seen each other really."

It's not all bad news for the show stars. Camilla Thurlow and Jamie Jewitt recently revealed they are expecting a baby nearly three years after meeting  on the 2017 series. Read more here
