Wiping away their hay fever woes - some sufferers have found an 'amazing' way to feel a bit better

Itchy eyes, runny nose, sneezing... the symptoms of hay fever can really get you down - especially now you can enjoy unlimited time in the UK's lovely green spaces.

While sufferers have been social distancing in a bid to avoid a deadly virus, it seems there's just no escape from the pesky pollen floating around.

However, savvy shoppers have found some "amazing" wipes, which "claim to remove and trap pollen". The hay fever wipes first hit headlines last year - and budget high street store Savers are still selling them online for just 99p a pack.

Its website description reads: "Hay fever Relief Wipes removes and traps pollen and other irritants while remaining on your face and hands to trap further pollen and irritants that are in the air for long term protection."

Each pack, made by Nuage, contains 30 wipes and, suitable for face and hands, they contain peppermint and tea tree oil.

They are also said to work wonders for those who feel ill from dust and pet allergens.

They can be used daily - handy for those constantly suffering.

Reviewers on the site have described them as "amazing" and "refreshing".

One person wrote: "Bought for my dad who suffers from hay fever works really well."

Another said: "Works amazing! Most of my family have really bad hay fever and it works like magic! The wipes have a really nice smell that somehow gets rid of hay fever! Strongly recommend."

A third, however, said: "These wipes make me feel more refreshed and less tempted to scratch and rub, but not sure they do much else. Worth it in combo with antihistamines and general prevention."

You can also purchase the wipes on Amazon, for the higher price of £3.48, with free delivery.

Hay fever usually at its worst between late March and September, when weather conditions are warm, humid and windy as this is when the pollen count is at its highest.

The Met Office has told people to expect high pollen levels across the south of England and the Midlands over the coming days as the temperatures remain in the 20s.

Asthma UK has warned that a high pollen count may put people with asthma at risk of a potentially life-threatening asthma attack, so is advising people to take their prescribed medicines as well as usual hay fever medicines.
