Sony to host a PS5 live-stream reveal showcasing first look at games to come

by

The live-stream event kicks off on Thursday, June 4 and will last for over an hour

Sony has announced that it will host a live-streaming event next week revealing the "future of video games" and a first look at what will be available to play on the PS5 after its launch.

A release date and other details about the PS5 have been kept tightly under wraps but it is expected the upcoming console will be launched this year.

Writing for the PlayStation Blog, CEO of Sony, Jim Ryan said: "This digital showcase will run for a bit more than an hour and, for the first time, we will all be together virtually experiencing the excitement together.

"A lack of physical events has given us an amazing opportunity to think differently and bring you on this journey with us, and hopefully, closer than ever before.

"This is part of our series of PS5 updates and, rest assured, after next week’s showcase, we will still have much to share with you."

For those who want to get a first look at what's to come you can tune into the live-stream on June 4 at 9pm in Ireland, 1pm Pacific Time or 4pm Eastern Time via Twitch or YouTube.

Ryan added: "The games coming to PS5 represent the best in the industry from innovative studios that span the globe. Studios, both larger and smaller, those newer and those more established, all have been hard at work developing games that will showcase the potential of the hardware."
