Sarah Ferguson's heartbreaking message to Princess Beatrice on sad day
by Zoe Forsey, https://www.facebook.com/zoeforseymirror/Today should have been a very, very special day for the Royal Family.
Princess Beatrice, the Queen's granddaughter, should have been putting on her white dress, walking down the aisle and celebrating her own royal wedding.
Beatrice, who is ninth in line to the throne, was due to marry millionaire Edoardo Mapelli Mozzi, 37, at Buckingham Palace today, but the coronavirus lockdown meant they had to postpone.
Many couples who have found themselves in this heartbreaking position have decided to mark the day in other ways, but it's not yet known what Beatrice and Edo are doing.
But her proud mum Sarah Ferguson marked the day by sharing a lovely childhood photo of Beatrice.
It shows the young princess with an adorable bob haircut, waving at the camera.
Alongside the snap, Fergie wrote: "Love you my darling Beatrice.
"You have given me more joy than I could ever wish for. I am so excited to celebrate yours and Edo’s love when we all are out of lockdown.
"The most important thing is health and love and today I send it to you and all the other people that were getting married during this time... so proud of you all."
The couple reportedly have already postponed the wedding twice due to the scandals surrounding Princess Beatrice's father Prince Andrew and his former friendship with convicted paedophile Jeffrey Epstein.
The pair began dating in autumn 2018 but have been friends for years, and sources said their relationship moved very quickly.
They got engaged while away on holiday in Italy earlier this month, and plan to marry next year.
Photos released today show Beatrice's stunning new diamond ring, which Edoardo, who is known as Edo and has a two-year-old son named Wolfie from a previous relationship, designed in collaboration with the British jewellery designer Shaun Leane.
In a statement announcing the happy news, the couple said: "We are extremely happy to be able to share the news of our recent engagement.
"We are both so excited to be embarking on this life adventure together and can't wait to be married.
"We share so many similar interests and values and we know this will stand us in great stead for the years ahead, full of love and happiness."
Beatrice is the Queen and the Duke of Edinburgh's granddaughter and is ninth in line to the throne, and a cousin of Princes William and Harry.
Edoardo, who runs property consultancy Banda which specialises in finding and developing lavish homes for wealthy clients, took to Instagram to share a sweet message.
Alongside a black and white photo of the couple he wrote: "You will never be alone my love, my heart is your home. Hand in hand, today, tomorrow and forever."
