Here's a Peek at What the Possibly-Cancelled Pixel 4a XL Looks Like

The Google Pixel 4a is reported to making its debut in June, and while we've been inundated with leaks about the handset, it's been a bit more quiet on the Pixel 4a XL front. But now, we've got a look at what the smartphone might look like. If it gets released at all, that is.

After cancelling its I/O event, word on the grapevine is that Google will be unveiling its new devices next week on June 5. While we've heard about the upcoming Pixel 4A's features - as well as the features it's reportedly ditching, like Active Edge, leaks have been less prevalent when it comes to the Pixel 4a XL. Earlier this year, we heard the XL model could be dropped from the mid-range series this year; the Pixel 3a outsold its XL variant and it's as simple as that apparently.  But it was a possibility at one point (and could still be one), and a leaked prototype of the handset has made its way into the wild, meaning someone has gone and mocked up renders of the smartphone.

Phone case manufacturer Pigtou has tweeted out a render of the Google Pixel 4a and the Pixel 4a XL side-by-side, giving us a glimpse of the larger handset that may never come to pass. They look pretty similar, with the only difference being the size. The XL is sorting a fingerprint sensor on the back along with a square camera array, and a 3.5mm headphone jack. Of course, it's advisable to stay sceptical for now given that Google hasn't officially weighed in on the fate of the Pixel 4a XL, and the leakers involved (Pigtou and @xleaks7) don't have a proven history of reputable leaks. But still, it looks nice, and pretty much as we imagined.

There's not long to wait for the big reveal - if the June 5 date is accurate - so we'll know all there is to know about Google's next smartphone soon enough. [TechRadar]
