by Sanjeeta Bains, https://www.facebook.com/sanjeetabainsbm/KFC has revealed how they are reopening their restaurants around the UK.
In a tweet today ( Friday May 29) the fried chicken chain laid out the rules for customers who can pick up their bucket and zinger tower meal but are not allowed to eat on the premises.
The fast food giant joked: "Just like you with your terrible barnet, the restaurants will look a little different to how they did before." And it ended the announcement telling fried chicken lovers it would see them on the other side "of the perspex screen".
The company has reopened 700 UK restaurants with many in Birmingham. And is offering home delivery through Deliveroo, Just Eat and Uber Eats.
During lockdown many chicken fans were left bereft of the Colonel's finger lickin' food but not anymore.
However as their tweet demonstrates, there will be strict lines which staff and customers now have to follow.
These consist of:
- Perspex screens at counters to protect customers and staff.
- Staff will also be seen to be wearing gloves and face masks as appropriate.
- Staff will be given access to 'non-medical grade face masks and gloves.'
- There will be two metres guidelines will be marked on the floors of restaurants you are able to go into to order food.
- Some restaurants will have a limit on how many people will be allowed in at any one time.
- Newsletters Sign up to our Birmingham newsletter Get our parenting newsletter Get our Black Country newsletter Sign up to our What's On newsletter
- The menu may also be limited to keep kitchen teams small and ensure food is prepared safely.
- Customers should pay by contactless if they can.
- Any deliveries or drive-thru orders will be contact-free,.
- Delivery drivers and customers will be kept separate in restaurants.
- Restaurant opening hours have also been reduced so fewer members of staff as possible.
KFC added in their tweet: "Ultimately the wellbeing of our guests and teams remains the most important thing - so if we can’t reopen a restaurant responsibly, we won’t."
