Two earthquakes jolted Rohtak in Haryana within an hour on Friday night. The tremors were also felt in Delhi, Noida and Gurugram.

As per the National Center for Seismology (NCS), the first earthquake's magnitude was 4.6 on the Richter Scale. The epicentre of the first quake was 16 kilometre outside Rohtak in Haryana. As per NCS alert, the earthquake hit at 09:08 PM.

The second quake was of lower intensity of magnitude 2.9 and occurred at the same location at 10 pm, the NCS said.

There were no immediate reports of any loss of life or property.

The areas around Delhi are known for reporting low-intensity earthquakes. Since April 12, Delhi alone has reported four low-intensity quakes -- April 12 (3.5), April 13 (2.7), May 10 (3.4) and May 15 (2.2).

On May 25, Manipur also felt two quakes within 13 minutes. The first one, measuring 5.5, took place around 13 kilometres south-west of Moirang town in Bishnupur district at 8.12 pm.

It was followed by another tremor, measuring 2.6, that happened around 20 kilometres west-south-west of the same town, the National Centre for Seismology said.
