The first trailer for the final season of Attack on Titan has arrived, showcasing new animation from MAPPA, who will replace WIT Studio for the fourth season. The footage above showcases returning Attack on Titans characters Reiner, Zeke, Eren, Mikasa, and the rest of the team from Paradis as they explore the outside world beyond the wall following the third season.

MAPPA director Yuichiro Hayashi has stated he and his team will “do their best” for this “exciting” chapter of the franchise. WIT Studio director also praised MAPPA, saying the team is “wonderful” and that they’ve “had many meetings together exchanging information for a long time.” The President of MAPPA, Manabu Otsuka, said that the studio is “enthusiastic about taking over from such a great studio” with George Wada, the President of WIT saying he only has “great expectations” for Attack on Titan The Final Season.

A compilation anime film for the series’ first 59 episodes called Attack on Titan: Chronicle is expected to arrive this summer. The film will feature new narration from star characters Eren, Mikasa, and Armin and is expected to arrive in Japanese theaters on July 17. The anime debuted in 2013, which spawned several live-action films based on Hajime Isayama’s manga, which began serialization in 2009.

Attack on Titan The Final Season is slated to arrive later this Fall and is confirmed to broadcast on NHK-G.
