Piers Morgan's rarely seen sons as GMB host says he'll 'break lockdown' to see family
Piers Morgan was very vocal in his response to the Dominic Cummings row and said if Boris Johnson didn't fire his aide he would 'deem lockdown over' and see his family
by Lucy NeedhamAfter the news broke about Dominic Cummings flouting the lockdown rules last week, many famous faces expressed vented their fury.
One of those holding the government to account was Good Morning Britain's outspoken host Piers Morgan who said he was wanting to see his family but had stuck to the rules.
In a Twitter post he fumed that if Boris Johnson didn't fire his aide he would "deem the Lockdown over & drive down to see my parents (from a 2m distance) for the first time in 12 weeks.
"I’m not having one rule for these clowns & another for the rest of us."
It came after Piers criticised the government for easing lockdown to allow cleaners into our homes but not family members.
"I’ve worked out how to see my sons again - I’m going to employ them as my cleaners," Piers joked to his 7million followers.
His son Spencer quipped back: "Good luck with that," showing he's inherited his dad's talent for a Twitter spat.
The family haven't been together for months as they comply with the lockdown guidelines meaning Piers hadn't seen the three sons from his first marriage to Marion Shalloe – Spencer, 26, Stanley, 22, and 19-year-old Albert, known as Bertie, since March
However, eldest boy Spencer managed to meet up with his dad from a distance last week, which he joked he was grateful for.
Reposting his dad's selfie of them reunited in a park Spencer wrote: "Good to see this walking foghorn after three months. Ears appreciated the 2 metres. Also nice seeing the sister through the window."
Piers also shares eight-year-old daughter Elise with his second wife Celia Walden.
Party boy Spencer, who has been rumoured to be taking a place on Love Island in the last few years, has also shared snaps of his 'old life' as he told his followers he was missing pool parties and his pals including George Lineker.
Piers' youngest boy Bertie, who is studying at Bristol university, came down with symptoms of the coronavirus in April.
"One of my sons had it in a much milder way. He lost his taste and smell. and still hasn’t got it back," Piers said earlier this month. "He had that taste and smell thing that I think now most people are associating with the virus. It’s a very unnerving thing to get."
As a precaution Piers took time off Good Morning Britain but after testing negative for the deadly virus, returned a week later.
