COVID-19 Tracker: Ulhasnagar crosses 300-mark; Badlapur, Ambernath witness a drop in numbers

Thane: In just four days, Ulhasnagar recorded almost 100 COVID-19 cases, and on Friday, the tally of positive cases zoomed past 300. The city reported 33 fresh cases on coronavirus and the total number now stands at 304 along with 10 deaths.

Hiraghat (Ulhasnagar-3) emerged as a new hotspot after 17 persons tested positive for the virus including a one-year-old boy. Five people contracted the virus in Anand Nagar while four people came out to be positive in Samrat Ashok Nagar.

Two people tested positive for COVID-19 in Subhash Tekdi, whereas one person each from Santosh Nagar, Bewas Chowk, Subhash Nagar and OT Section (Ulhasnagar-3) has been diagnosed with the infection.

So far, 120 people have been cured and discharged in Ulhasnagar, as per Ulhasnagar Municipal Corporation.

On the other hand, Badlapur witnessed a drop in the daily count as it reported only two cases of COVID-19 on Friday. 206 people have tested positive for the virus until now with seven fatalities.

A 28-year-old woman from Swami Siddhivinayak Tower, Old Katrap Road has tested positive. She has been traced as the contact of a previously infected person.

A 44-year-old woman from Parth Complex (TV Tower), who worked as a nurse in a COVID designated hospital has also contracted the virus.

Meanwhile, Ambernath's COVID tally climbed to 114 with 11 new cases on Friday. Three people have succumbed to the virus so far in the city.

According to the Ambernath Municipal Corporation, 47 patients have been cured of the infection while the remaining are undergoing treatment in designated hospitals in and around the city.
