Doctor Who boss has penned a sequel story with a 'secret that must be told'
by George GriffithsFormer Doctor Who boss Russell T Davies has revealed he’s penned a sequel story to a much-loved serial, with a ‘secret that must be told.’
Well, now we have to know more.
The showrunner – who rebooted the long-running sci-fi show in 2005 – will be leading a fan viewing party to the serials New Earth and Gridlock, set on a planet that humanity have migrated to in the future long after the Earth has been destroyed.
And, to celebrate this, Queer A Folk creator has also apparently penned a sequel to these two episodes, and we already have to know what happens.
According to a writer for Doctor Who Magazine on Twitter, who has helped organise fan viewing parties since lockdown began, this new sequel will include a secret that simple ‘must be told.’
Well, don’t leave us hanging Russell, we need to know!
It must be a pretty impressive secret as well – series three episode Gridlock famously ended with the Doctor (David Tennant) learning that ‘you are not alone,’ leading to the return of renegade Time Lord The Master (John Simm).
Fellow former Who showrunner, Steven Moffat, also made a startling admission of his own last week.
He admitted that an episode in Peter Capaldi’s stint in the TARDIS contains a pretty obvious error.
Doctor Who aired its twelfth series this year – and fans can expect the show to return for its annual festive special too.
We’ve already been teased the ‘brilliant’ return of the Doctor’s oldest enemy in Revolution of the Daleks.
Doctor Who is available to stream now via BBC iPlayer.
