These look amazing!
by Courtney Pochin, Nisha MalIf lockdown has turned you into a keen baker, then this new creation from M&S has to be on your radar.
The retailer has created tasty cereal bars using Percy Pig sweets.
The pretty pink cereal bars are easy to whip up, and you can make them with the kids, too.
Using Rice Crispies and marshmallows, along with a handful of other ingredients, they're the perfect sweet treat to enjoy during the warm weather.
The recipe was created by an Instagram food account called @platesoftate, and was reposted by the M&S Food team, The Mirror reports.
To whip up a batch at home you'll need:
- 40g butter
- 250g mini marshmallows
- 125g Percy Pig sauce
- 100g Rice Crispies or similar popped rice cereal
- 170g bag of Percy Pigs, torn into pieces
Method
1. Line a large square baking tray with greaseproof paper.
2. Melt butter in a saucepan over a low heat, stirring until totally melted.
3. Add 200g of the mini marshmallows into the saucepan, saving 50g to decorate. Stir until melted then take off the heat.
4. Add the Rice Crispies to the pan and coat completely in the butter/marshmallow mixture.
5. Stir in 125g of the torn Percy Pig sweets.
6. Pour the mixture into the baking tin, pressing down until it's flat and even.
7. Top with the remaining marshmallows and Percy Pigs, pressing them down.
8. Pop in the fridge for at least four hours or overnight if possible.
9. Cut up into squares and enjoy!
