Arrow Video Bringing Vin Diesel Creature Feature ‘Pitch Black’ to 4K Ultra HD This Summer!

by

Arrow Video breaks into the 4K Ultra HD arena with the upcoming release of Pitch Black, the horror/sci-fi movie from 2000 that introduced us to Vin Diesel‘s Richard B. Riddick.

The character, a Furyan convict-turned-antihero monster-slayer, subsequently appeared in 2004’s The Chronicles of Riddick and 2013’s Riddick. A fourth film is currently in the works.

Arrow gives Pitch Black its 4K Ultra HD debut in a release that’s coming to the US, UK and Canada, releasing in the UK on August 17th and in the US on August 18th, 2020.

When an intergalactic transport ship crashes on a remote desert planet with no sign of help on the horizon, the survivors, led by Fry (Radha Mitchell), band together to find a way back home. Among the passengers is Riddick (Vin Diesel), a convicted murderer being transported by marshal Johns (Cole Hauser) – and now freed of his chains and on the loose. But as a solar eclipse plunges the planet into total darkness, a threat even worse than Riddick reveals itself, and the last humans standing may have to form an uneasy truce with the cunning fugitive (whose eyes have been surgically altered to see in the dark) to last the long night.

Directed by David Twohy, Riddick’s first outing is freshly unleashed in an illuminating, brand new 4K restoration, with the release including hours of exclusive bonus content.

Here’s the full breakdown:

Pre-order in the US via Diabolik, UK via Arrow and CA via Unobstructed View.

Arrow is also releasing the film on Blu-ray.
