Man suffers cut throat in broken bottle attack at Hyson Green Market

Police are appealing for witnesses after a man was attacked with a broken bottle in Hyson Green.

Officers were called to reports of a disturbance in Radford Road at around 11.10pm on Wednesday, May 27.

A man suffered a small cut to his throat during the incident.

Officers identified a suspect and arrested a 25-year-old man at the scene on suspicion of grievous bodily harm.

He has subsequently been released on conditional bail.

Detective Sergeant Andy Buxton from Nottinghamshire Police said: "We attended Hyson Green Market on Wednesday night after a call of a dispute between two men. A suspect was quickly arrested at the scene.

"The victim was taken to the Queen's Medical Centre for treatment. His injuries aren't believed to be life-altering, although it was a lucky escape as it could have been a lot more serious."
