The highly anticipated collaboration “Sour Candy” between Blackpink and Lady Gaga was released and both Blackpink and Lady Gaga fans were too excited for the release.

In the first 24 hours, the girls garnered over 21.8 million views making them the most watched female collaboration in history surpassing Ariana Grande, Lana Del Rey and Miley Cirus’ “Don’t Call Me An Angel”. In addition to breaking this record, they also had the highest debut on Spotify history for a girl group gaining over 5,766,451 million listens. It is the most for a girl group and second most for a kpop group. However, the records don’t stop there.

They also placed #47 on US Apple Music which is the highest position for a kpop girl group to date. Lastly, they got #1 on ITunes in over 62+ countries making it the most for a girl group ever surpassing Fifth Harmony.

This historical collaboration definitely left a huge impact on the entire world as every music outlet is talking about them. This has to be one of the biggest collabs in kpop. Congratulations to the record-breaking queens! This was all done in the first 24 so who knows what other records they’ll break. Regardless, both artists did an amazing job and we are so excited to see their future work. After all, this was all done with 0 promotions and an audio video.

With Blackpink preparing for a June single, let’s see how many records they’ll break with their own comeback!
