The best hair masks for a salon-worthy treatment at home

by

With social distancing having drastically altered our daily lives, trips to our favourite restaurants and bars have become non-existent, so too have our ritualistic visits to beauty salons and clinics.

But while many of us are spending more time indoors with the temperature rising outdoors, our hair is beginning to feel sapped and in need of some much-needed TLC. Granted, we can't currently go to our trusted salons for deep conditioning hair treatments, however masks are the best at-home method of injecting some hydration back into your tresses.

Though it may have previously seemed hard to find the time to add a mask to your busy weekly routine, given the 20 minute wait time, with our current work from home culture, a mask can now be plonked on any day or time of the week, whilst replying to emails or even when on a conference call.

The improvement it can make to our hair health makes masks a worthy investment and, you'd be hard pressed to find a hairstylist who doesn't recommend regular masking. Here are the hair transforming masks that are worth your time and money...

The best hair mask for fine hair

Leonor Greyl Nourishing Treatment Mask, £38.50

Leonor Greyl Nourishing Treatment Mask, £38.50

Admittedly this is expensive, but trust us, the formula is game-changing and a little goes a long way. If you’ve got finer hair and have always been wary of masks as they always leave your tresses feeling lank and greasy, this will change your opinion. The creamy texture helps to soften and smooth out mid-lengths and ends, even ones that are seriously dry and splitting.

This self-heating formula has been around for years, but if you're in need of serious hydration, it’s second to none. It works on all hair types, but we recommend you only use it once a week as it is a rich formula. It’s also quite tricky to track down, so if you like it, buy in bulk.

There’s also a lighter formula for finer hair types, as well as a travel-size bottle.
