Deacon Blue stars Ricky Ross and Lorraine McIntosh have detailed their symptoms after both catching coronavirus.

The duo, who fronts the Scottish pop-rock band, appeared via video-link on Friday’s This Morning to chat about their music and lockdown life.

Although speaking to Eamonn Holmes and Ruth Langsford, the pair told how they both caught the virus, which left them bedbound after a visit to London.

‘We both had it, the last time we saw you when we were promoting our new album and we were all over London,’ Lorraine began.

‘We came home, Ricky got ill, and so I had to isolate for two weeks and then I got it.’

Lorraine went on to add that she had far worse symptoms and she still has no sense of taste or smell.

‘I got it a bit worse so I was in bed for a couple of weeks and I still have no taste or smell seven weeks later,’ she continued.

Ricky added: ‘I feel fine now, Dougie, who is also in the band had it and we were all talking about how it can just wipe you out.’

Asked whether they were feeling better now, Lorraine explained: ‘I think we’re pretty much back to normal. The off day when we feel exhausted, but we’re fine.’

The UK’s Covid-19 death toll has risen to more than 37,000.

It comes after over 300 people were announced to have died by the Department for Health on Thursday.

The new figure includes deaths in all settings, including care homes.

This Morning airs weekdays at 10am on ITV.
