The EFL have revealed they are planning to let Birmingham City complete their St Andrew's schedule.

Blues' season has been suspended for almost three months now due to the coronavirus pandemic and the Government only cleared return to training protocols recently.

Pep Clotet's side haven't played a competitive match since they were defeated 3-1 by Reading at St Andrew's on March 7.

The Blues squad returned to training on Monday though and efforts are now being stepped up to restart the Championship season.

There have been suggestions that some Championship matches could take place at neutral venues in order to avoid supporters congregating outside stadiums.

However, the EFL have insisted they intend to let Blues and their divisional rivals complete their fixtures as normal, albeit behind-closed-doors.

On Friday, an EFL spokesman said: “It remains our intention to play all remaining league matches at clubs’ home grounds as long as they comply with the relevant government guidelines.

“We will only seek to move matches if they are not permitted by the relevant local authority, following any representations from the local police force.”

Blues have four scheduled home games against Hull City, Huddersfield Town, Swansea City and Charlton Athletic still to play.
