Alleged AMD Ryzen 3 4200G and Ryzen 5 Pro 4400G APUs Appear

by

AMD’s Renoir-based Ryzen 4000 Mobile series have been out and about for a little while now, and it’s not an exaggeration that they are nothing short of impressive. Now it appears that the CPU and GPU maker has plans to add two desktop APUs, oddly enough, to the list.

The alleged APUs in question are the Ryzen 3 4200G and Ryzen 5 Pro 4400G. Like the current generation of Ryzen processors, both of them are based on AMD’s 7nm Zen 2 CPU architecture. However, as mentioned earlier, both processors are rumoured to be for the desktop and not the mobile space.

Moving on, the APUs were first discovered by Thai leakster, APISAK (@TUM_APISAK). As per APISAK’s SOP, he found evidence of the Ryzen 3 4200G and the Ryzen 5 Pro 4400G on UL’s 3DMark’s performance database. If the listing is to be believed, the Ryzen 3 4200G may ship out with a 4-cores, 8-threads configuration, with a base clock of 3.8GHz and boost clock of 4.1GHz. Moreover, the Graphics Cores of the APU reportedly total at six cores and run at a clock speed of 1700MHz.

As for the Ryzen 5 Pro 4400G, it is said that this APU will sport a 6-cores, 12-thread layout and have a base and boost clock of 3.7GHz and 4.3GHz, respectively. As for the graphics cores, we’re looking at one additional core over the Ryzen 3 4200G. All running at a clockspeed of 1900MHz.

As always, these performance listings haven’t been confirmed by AMD itself and so far, there still isn’t a launch date. So, until then, we do recommend that you take this news with a pinch of salt.
