Glasgow teen, 14, attacked by gang armed with ‘large blades’ in school grounds

A GLASGOW teenager was attacked by a gang armed with "bladed weapons" in the grounds of a school.

Cops are appealing for information after the lad, 14, was brutally assaulted around 6pm yesterday evening.

The incident happened in Easterhouse

The boy and his pals were in the grounds of St Andrew’s High School on Torphin Crescent in the Easterhouse area of the city.

They were then approached by a group of men, some of which were in possession of large heavy bladed weapons.

The 14-year old boy was taken to hospital where he remains.

Police say that he was left seriously hurt as a result of the violent attack.

Now detectives are appealing for information on what happened as they try to bring the thugs to justice.

Detective Constable Claire Cunningham said: "The boy was playing with his friends when they were attacked by the group within the grounds of the school.

"He is currently recovering in hospital.

"The reason for the attack is unknown at this time and we are looking to trace four or five males who are described as all wearing dark clothing.

"Anyone who knows who is responsible or has any information is asked to contact police on 101, quoting incident number 3341 of Thursday 28 May, 2020, or call the charity Crimestoppers anonymously on 0800 555 111.'
