Plymouth Parkway are signing 18-year-old defender Isaac Burdon after he was not offered a professional contract by Plymouth Argyle.

Burdon, a former Ivybridge Community College student, had been an apprentice with the Pilgrims for the past two years.

He becomes the seventh new recruit for next season to be announced by ambitious Parkway this week.

Strikers Ryan Richards and Matt Wright, from Saltash United and Taunton Town respectively, have been among the signings made by the Western League club.

Burdon, from Saltash, was a regular for Argyle’s under-18s in the EFL Youth Alliance in 2019/20.

He also featured for the Pilgrims in the Under-23 Premier League Cup as well as the Central League South.

Three of Argyle’s second-year apprentices have been offered professional contracts for next season.

They are the trio of wing-back Jarvis Cleal, central defender Ollie Tomlinson and striker Rubin Wilson.

Cleal and Wilson have both already made one substitute appearance for Argyle at first team level.
