In yet another shocking incident of attack on Hindu saints and seers, three unidentified assailants barged into a temple and attacked two priests, reports PTI.

As per reports, the three unidentified men barged into Jagrut Mahadev Mandir and Ashram at Balivali in Vasai, Palghar District at around 12.30 am on Thursday (28 May). They attacked the temple’s priest and looted nearly Rs 7,000 from the priest.

As per Zee News report, one accused has been caught and Rs 2,000 has been recovered from him, while the other two are still absconding.

The police have registered a case against the perpetrators and are conducting investigations. They also informed that the trio attacked Shankaranand Dayanand Saraswati (54) and his co-worker Shyamsingh Somsingh Thakur (60) the two priests of Jagrit Mahadev Temple.

The incident marks third such incident in past 40 days in Maharashtra where Hindu saints were attacked.

Last week, a sadhu (seer) was brutally murdered inside an ashram in Maharashtra’s Nanded on late Saturday (23 May) night.

Over a month ago three people, including two seers, were lynched by more than 500 people at Gadchinchale village, in Palghar district. It also raises questions on the law and order situation under Uddhav Thackeray-led Maha Vikas Aghadi government in Maharashtra.
