Deadline Looming For Former Pirates Star

Musa Nyatama, who parted ways with Pirates on January 31st, was snapped up by Coach Owen da Gama at Highlands Park on a five-month contract, However, the Lions of the North confirmed that they have an option on the player's deal.

Now it has emerged that the deadline for the Tembisa outfit to exercise that option is the weekend of May 30.
Nyatama, who was crowned Pirates’ Player of the Season award in his first season during the 2017/18 campaign, has featured 10 times for Highlands in all competitions since joining in January.
Contacted for comment, Highlands’ Co-Director Sinki Mnisi told the Siya crew that the club has not had any discussions with the player.
“We haven’t spoken to Musa, or any player for that matter. We don’t know when the season ends and we have not even been told when we will be playing again. So once we know that, we will talk about contracts,” Mnisi said.

Another midfielder whose future is up in the air at Highalnds is Reneilwe Letsholonyane, whose one-year deal with the club expires at the end of June. His agent Steve Kapeluschnik confirmed to the Siya crew that talks have been halted due to the COVID-19 pandemic.
It remains to be seen whether Highlands will hold onto the veteran duo or if their futures lie away from the club.
