Karimnagar: An elderly woman was stopped from entering the house by her sons on the suspicion of being infected with the coronavirus. The incident occurred in Kisan Nagar in Karimnagar.

Getting into details, the woman, Shyamala visited her son's house in Karimnagar from Sholapur. Instead of welcoming their mother home, Shyamala's sons denied her entry into the house fearing of coronavirus. With no option left to return Sholapur, the woman stood on the road in the scorching heat.

A local corporator, Ashok, came to know about her situation who spoke to her sons. On the request of the corporator, Shyamala's elder son agreed to look after his mother.

Earlier, doctors and nurses who treated coronavirus patients were denied entry into the apartment on the fear of contracting the virus. Cases were also registered against few people under Indian Epidemic Diseases Act 1897 for denying entry of doctors, nurses and health workers into the house.
