Petey the Gargoyle returned to Nanaimo home

Petey the gargoyle is back on his perch at a Nanaimo home.

The 45-kilogram concrete figure had been taken overnight Wednesday from his spot on the corner of a deck on Nicol Street.

Nanaimo RCMP issued a plea for Petey’s return, and he was found in a pile of items by a city worker on a clean-up detail.

Police were contacted and an officer delivered Petey to his owner.
