Instagram influencer culture can get a little tired at times.

The platform is full of shiny, happy people so when something fresh and altogether moodier comes along, it doesn't take long before it gets noticed.

Step forward Marianne, aka @smythsisters on Instagram. The mum-of-two is burning up the social media platform with her style and effortlessly chic outfits.

Fans cannot get enough of her posts and it's not hard to see why.

There is very little evidence of prints and bright colour in her outfits. The Belfast woman generally opts for a muted colour palette, with plenty of monochrome, crisp white shirts and perfectly fitted denim jeans thrown in for good measure.

The end result is ridiculously chic and grown-up, this style is for women, rather than girls.

The high-street features frequently in her posts, which means that the fashion on display is accessible to the budget-conscious amongst us too.

Every post is beautifully photographed, which is not surprising, as Marianne is a photographer by trade. You won't find any flowers and candles here, just a simple mirror selfie with a pared-back, virtually empty room that is not unlike a photography studio.

This allows the clothes to take all the attention and make a statement without anything else distracting the viewer. In short, it's genius.

Marianne's face is obscured by her phone in nearly all of the photographs so there's an element of anonymity and mystery to the account too and a refreshing move away from celebrity influencer culture.

But her influence and unique take on style hasn't gone unnoticed as she has already amassed a whopping 243k followers on Instagram.

We don't know a lot about her other than that her father is Northern Irish, her mother is Iranian and her fabulous taste stretches beyond fashion.

She also has an interiors account @smythsistershome where she posts stunning photographs from her gorgeous old home and is currently documenting her move to an equally exquisite new house.
