BOTTLE BLOODBATH
Young mum, 21, left dripping with blood from horrific head wound after man, 30, attacked her in street with bottle
by Thomas BurrowsA YOUNG mum was left with blood pouring from her head after a thug hit her with a glass bottle near her home in the Isle of Wight.
Jamie Simpson, 30, yesterday pleaded guilty to attacking 21-year-old Yavana Robinson on December 20.
Yavana, a carer who has a two-year-old son, was left bruised and bleeding after the sickening attack near her home in Lake Hill, Sandown.
Following the assault, Yavana's brother Sean shared a picture on social media, showing the extent of her injuries.
After the attack, Yavana was taken to a nearby home where her family put together a makeshift bandage to stem the bleeding.
Yavana was then taken to the island's St Mary's hospital where she was given six stitches above the eye.
Speaking at the time, her mum Denise Robinson said: "She's very anxious and scared. She's not eating, she's not sleeping."
Simpson was arrested a week after the cowardly attack.
He yesterday pleaded guilty to afflicting grievous bodily harm without intent when he appeared by video link at the Isle of Wight Crown Court.
Simpson has been in custody since his arrest.
He will remain in custody until his next court appearance - for sentencing on July 9.
