Celtic have dropped out of the list

Celtic met the three-point selection criteria which required clubs to be among the top 50 European teams by total operating revenues, rank in the top 50 teams according to the five-year UEFA coefficient and feature within the top 30 European teams by number of social media followers.

And they were the first Scottish club to make the list, with the Parkhead side proudly announcing it on their website last year after being named in 30th place.

However, they are one of only two sides edged out this year, along with Monaco with the big five leagues of England, Germany, Spain, France and Italy dominating.

The KPMG report explained: "The representation of the big five leagues remained prominent with 27 out of the 32 clubs. The newcomers are Valencia and Porto mainly because of their strong campaigns in the Champions League in 2018/19.

"On the other hand, last year's debutants Celtic have dropped out, along with Monaco.

"The English Premier League was again dominant, accounting for nine clubs in the list and accounting for 41 per cent of the total aggregate value.

"Throughout the past editions of this report, the dominance of the big five leagues has been palpable and the overall representation of the non-big five leagues has been decreasing."

Real Madrid top the list, ahead of Manchester United, Barcelona, Bayern Munich and Liverpool.

The only clubs outside the big five leagues on the list are Ajax, Benfica, Galatasaray, Porto and Besiktas.
