The South African-born midfielder, who is the product of Varsity Football after his exploits with North West University-Mahikeng, penned a three-year deal with Baroka in 2018.

Before that, he spent time in Botswana with Jwaneng Galaxy FC, and on loan with Miscellaneous SC.

However, after making only six appearances for the Limpopo side in the 2019/20 campaign, the Mahikeng-born star was shown the exit door by Bakgaga in December.

The talented star has opened up to the Siya crew on his struggles under departed coach Wedson Nyirenda.

“The lack of understanding of the player that I am, could have contributed to why I was in and out of the team. I think the coach had his own philosophy that did not accommodate me, or maybe I was the one who did not understand what the coach wanted.

“The coach never told me why I was not in the team. He only told me which aspects I could work on in order for me to improve my game,” Mongae revealed.

After an unsuccessful trial with Highlands Park in January, the tricky winger secured a five-month deal with struggling GladAfrica Championship side Royal Eagles.
