Coachella Reportedly Asking 2020 Lineup to Perform Next Year Instead

Suggesting the event might be cancelled after all.

While many other events have been canceled this year due to the ongoing Coronavirus (COVID-19) pandemic, Coachella has been holding out on a full cancellation, instead previously pushing its dates back to October in the hopes that the situation will have been resolved. However, a new report from Bloomberg now suggests that the beloved music festival may be canceled after all.

According to the report, Coachella’s organizers Goldenvoice is currently requesting the lineup of artists for 2020 to perform in 2021 instead, most likely allowing those who have bought tickets for this year’s event to carry them forward into the following year in order to minimize financial losses. The 2020 lineup featured headliners such as Frank Ocean, Rage Against the Machine and Travis Scott, as well as other musicians including Megan Thee Stallion, Denzel Curry, Big Sean, 21 Savage, Run the Jewels, Summer Walker, Freddie Gibbs, Ari Lennox, Lana Del Rey, Lil Uzi Vert, FKA Twigs, Swae Lee, DaBaby, YBN Cordae and Roddy Ricch. Bloomberg suggests that so far only some of these artists have agreed to postpone their performance by a year — many have yet to make a decision.

There’s currently no official statement from Coachella and Goldenvoice yet, so those planning on attending the festival should definitely stay tuned for more updates to come.
