Severe thunderstorms with gusty winds expected this afternoon
The National Weather Service says there is a risk for severe weather from early this afternoon through the early evening, including the possibility of an isolated tornado.
Several rounds of thunderstorms are to pass through Western New York this afternoon.
"A few of these storms may be severe with the primary risk being isolated damaging wind gusts, and a lower risk of large hail. Thunderstorms will also contain brief, torrential downpours which may produce minor flooding in poor drainage areas," according to the weather service.
And, the weather service said in a tweet, "an isolated tornado cannot be ruled out."
