Star Wars: Battlefront 2 and Call Of Duty: WWII free for PS Plus users

by

Two different shooters are free this month on PlayStation Plus: one set in outer space and the other in the past.

Earlier this week, it was suspected that Insomniac’s Spider-Man game would be one of June’s free PlayStation Plus titles.

That has turned out to not be the case, but players can still enjoy two of the console’s biggest first person shooters.

The first we already knew about – Call Of Duty: World War 2 – which Sony confirmed not too long ago and is already available to download now.

If you prefer your wars with more of a sci-fi aesthetic, then you can look forward to the inclusion of Star Wars: Battlefront 2.

Battlefront 2 was once infamous for its use of microtransactions and loot boxes, which earned it almost universal scorn, but once the former were removed the game became a very enjoyable multiplayer game and benefited from years of solid support from developer DICE.

Battlefront 2 will be available from Tuesday 2 June and both it and Call Of Duty: World War 2 will remain free until 6 July.

May’s free games – Cities: Skylines and Farming Simulator 19 – are also still available to download but you only have until Monday 1 June to do so.

With no mention of Spider-Man, it seems likely that the listing which suggested it would be a free PlayStation Plus title was simply a glitch.
